Even though the home page of the Magazine Pro theme is populated with Featured Posts widgets showing the most recent posts (and could be the most recent 10 posts), it's not technically the blog page?

    Have I got this right?

So, how do you show the user where the other posts are? Do you have to create a page for "blog" with the blog template and then that would be the only way to view the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc., pages of 10 blog posts until the oldest?

    Rob:

That is correct, for the most part. Any site which has a widgetized home page needs to have some way for your readers to read older posts. Having a blog page, using the blog template, is the easiest way to do it.

But, you may decide that rather than direct your traffic to one blog page, you might just have a number of categories, and direct your traffic to the different categories, by adding the categories to your menu - when one clicks on the category menu item, they'll get taken to page which displays posts from that particular category.

Thanks, Susan, for understanding my ramblings.

What I was thinking of doing was using the widgets to show a big image featured posts, then 4 half column featured posts with thumbnails, then 6 listed headlines without images. Then a text widget with a link to site.com/blog/page/2/ so the visitor could keep going.
