    I have a client who does not want the date or author in her individual posts. Currently, they are not showing on the home page, as I directed in the Featured Post widget, but they are still showin in the individual post, as well as in the snippet when the category is clicked on.

    We are using the old Lifestyle theme (1.1.1, I believe it is) on Genesis framework.

    I can't seem to find the code to remove the dates and author within each post.

    (I tried doing this: http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/author-box/, but now have a syntax error to fix...)

    Two different ways I've done this...

    Add this to functions.php, since you want it on all posts and pages:

    remove_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'genesis_post_info', 12 );

    or since your site is still xhtml (I think), the action is:

    remove_action( 'genesis_before_post_content', 'genesis_post_info' );

    I have typically only used these in single.php, but in functions it would do what you need sitewide.

    Also, you could try using the Genesis Simple Edits plugin, and making the post info field blank. I know that works, too.

    Your easiest way to make sure the author box isn't displayed is to disable it for each user, in the User settings.

    Thank you so much, Summer! As soon as I can get back into the site, I'll use one of those suggestions!

    Summer, would that code go in the functions of Genesis or Lifestyle?

    Use this and change the post type from portfolio to post http://wpsites.net/web-design/how-to-remove-post-info-from-custom-post-type-only-in-genesis/

    Never modify the functions.php or anything in the genesis folder.... that way lies madness! 🙂

    Always make your changes in the child theme folder.
