I am not following you. The URL is already there. Do you mean you want the visitor to go somewhere else upon clicking the image in the slider?

I want the slider and the Holidays Unique to load on the same page when the visitor loads the site. Or am I missing the point of the slider concept?

I am still pretty new to this......

Anitac, any advice on what would be the best way would be welcomed with open arms:-)

Or would it be better SEO wise to just have the visitor click on the menu item Holidays Unique - which was in reality, my home page.

When I go here - http://www.holidaysunique.co.za/ - the first thing I see is the slider. Are you saying that you want the CONTENT from the image you place in there - to be seen on the home page instead of them clicking the image and taken to another page?

I was thinking of visitors landing on the slider page but having the CONTENT from the Holidays Unique/Home page showing below the slider. Or is that crazy?

Just to clarify - i will have an image from the different countries in the slider - which when clicked on would go to the content for the particular country's

The Holidays Unique page is generic

    Hope that helps.

Hummmm, I wrote the instructions and your second message has confused me now. So you are saying that the image when clicked will not go to the content area you want below. The text below is all together different text - not associated directly to the slider image?

Sorry about the confusion. when the visitor clicks on the URL for the site I thought it would be good if besides the slider the generic Holidays Unique page could appear together with the slider as the landing page. THEN when an image is clicked on the slider the visitor should be taken to that county's url and info. Am I making this too cumbersome?

Perhaps this will clarify - I did not plane for any link from the slider to the Holidays Unique/Home page.

The slider will have an (1) image only - pointing to (1) URL, correct? The text below it will be INTRODUCTORY or WELCOME TEXT to the site that does NOT point anywhere? Is this how you want it?

No the slider will have an image per country - at this stage 3 or 4 - all different URLS - except to the Welome/Introductory/Holidays Unique text

You would just add those featured pages to the slider. Then to place introductory text underneath the slider, create a page labeled Welcome - add your text, then:

    1. Go to Widgets > Drag a Featured Page widget over to the slider widget area - place it under the slider widget
    2. For that widget > Select the Welcome Page
    3. Only add the CONTENT and nothing else. Only check the box to add the content.

    That should work for you.

Thanks Anitac - in other words remove the menu item Holidays Unique and just make that the WELCOME text?

    Thanks for your patience.

Yes, because you labeled the SLIDER itself and not a particular image. The slider settings will allow you to add the number of images you want in the slider. Review it for the instructions.
