    Using WP 4.7.5 I updated to Genesis 2.5.2 from the most recent version prior to it. The visual editor is stuck in Text mode and the Toolbar is missing, yet the content is white as I can highlight it and see it.

    I disabled all plugins, and changed to default twentysixteen and the tinymce editor visual mode is disabled, as well as the Toolbar is missing. I checked the box to disable the visual editor for me as a user and could see the text at least but that will do the client no good as they cannot hand code like me.

    I enabled debug but see no errors.

    I reinstalled Genesis 2.4.2 and the problem is still there.

    I don't think this is a Genesis problem but anyone else have any ideas?

    The site appears to be displaying correctly.

    Genesis does nothing to the TinyMCE editor. Have you tried updating WordPress to 4.8? Is there anything in the server's PHP error logs? Have you tried creating a new user and logging in as that user?

    i didn't try to update. I might as well. I thought it was a caching issue but it is not. I haven't seen this happen before. I did add a 3rd user and try that and no luck. I looked in Chrome developer tools and get the following (and wp-tinymce.php is in the correct folder online - so weird).

    Others have come across this, read these answers.

    I am going to take a stab at, the first thing I would check that the CHMOD of this file is 644.
