I noticed that jetpack was the plugin that takes the most time to load.
After disabling it, my site loads much quicker.
But here is the catch.
Now I need your help in deciding which :
1) comment plugin
2) share (social) plugin
to use together with Genesis.
What do you need your comment plugin to do? Comments are built-in, so the field is wide open.
For social sharing, I've started using Simple Share Buttons Adder on some of my sites.
and welcome to the club of Jetpack haters 🙂
I like what Jetpack does with comments, allows users to login via social networks. Any idea?
As for social sharing, I am looking for a plugin that can load very fast, this seams like a good solution, how it works for you?
I am on shared hosting (HostGator) so I am trying to decrease loading as much as I can. Jetpack disabled made website load much much faster.
Many thanks for the tips, your site looks very neat! Congratulations. 😉
At the time I was updating sliceofscifi.com 2 years ago, I wasn't able to find a plugin for social network logins for commenting that I liked, so I use a premium plugin from WPMU Dev for that, their Comments Plus plugin.
I just checked, they don't have a lite version that's available in the WP.org repository like some of their other plugins, though.
