MemberI found the jetpack share button tutorial on changing their look. So I put the css into my theme and nothing happens...
Am I missing something?

KeymasterDid you place the other code in the tutorial into your Functions.php file?

KeymasterOkay here's the thing... did you follow the instructions?? It says, "If you want to take things a step further, you can customize the sharing buttons to make them match your site." Did you just copy his code and do nothing with it? Or did you "customize the CSS to match your own website?"

MemberHonestly I'm no expert and I pretty much just fiddle with things till they blow up or... don't. Yes I followed the instructions and yes I customized it. But I think my theme might be wonky to begin with and I really don't know how or where. It's okay, I don't really need it. 🙂 It was just a nifty trick. Thanks for helping though.

MemberIm having the exact same problem, uploaded my own css styling as the tutorial shows and it still displays the boring old jetpack style. I see your's works on your site now, how did you resolve it?

MemberHave you tried the Shareholic plugin? I think is waaay better and easy to setup than Jetpack Share buttons.

KeymasterMake sure you place the code in the style.css file and not a custom file.

MemberCameronMunro.ca --- Its pretty minimal right now, just farting around with the different themes and things that can be done with them... still cant get this to work even with the code as-is from the tutorial. And yes I added the css code to the style.css file.

MemberResolved.
1 - I updated to Genesis 2.0.
2 - installed "Sixteen nine" theme.
3 - Followed tutorial instructions only this time I used ftp, downloaded "functions.php" and "style.css" to my computer > used Notepad++ to edit the files > Re-uploaded the files to the theme files overwritting the old ones.Maybe the wordpress editor wasn't working properly on my server. I have had issues with it before. From now on I will edit any php and css file this way to ensure no bugs happen.

MemberSo you didn't have to use the !important tag or anything like that? Did you use "." or "#" in the CSS?
