Issues with setting a Featured Image for Homepage of Foodie Pro

I have tried to set a featured image for the homepage of Foodie Pro but I haven't been able to get it to work.

The website is for a photographer, who's primary focus is children photography yet when I share the URL on Facebook the thumbnail options that come up are all senior photos, none of which are set as featured images anywhere throughout the site.

The homepage is currently made up of text widgets.

I have tried the following and none have worked:
- Setting the Featured Image using Default Featured Image plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/default-featured-image/
- Setting a page as a the homepage for the site and adding a featured image to that page
- Adding an image within a text widget on the homepage

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could set the featured image?
