    Hi,

I'm using the Authority Pro Theme from Studio Press. I wanted to take advantage of the Thrive Theme's Plugin Called Thrive Headline Optimizer

    https://thrivethemes.com/headlineoptimizer/

However, when I activate the plugin, I lose the native ability from the Authority Pro Theme for showing subtitles on my blog posts (it works just fine on pages, it seems).

I opened a ticket with the Thrive Themes Help Desk and this is their response:

    Hello Luis,

Thank you for contacting us regarding this matter.

The problem is that the subtitle is displayed inside the title tag => when the title is changed, the whole tag is replaced.

Unfortunately, in this instance, there is nothing we can do from our end, a workaround will be to create a child theme and separates the title from the subtitle.

Let us know if this solved your problem and if further assistance is needed.
    Best regards.

I'm not a coder and don't know how to achieve something like this, but I would really appreciate it if someone can recommend a coder (expert in Genesis) who could help me get this done.

    Thank you very much.

I don't have the Thrive plugin but you can try commenting out or removing line 47 in functions.php which looks like this:

// Includes subtitle markup and filters.
    require_once get_stylesheet_directory() . '/lib/subtitles.php';

Keep in mind that should you decide not to use the plugin, you'll need to add it back. Be sure to clear any caching. See if that will work for you.

I found the lines of code you mention, but they were located at lines 41 & 42 of my functions.php file.

I removed the two lines of text, activated the Thrive Headline Optimizer Plugin and purged all caches. However, it didn“t work, so I added back the lines of code and deactivated the plugin. Everything went back to normal.

I appreciate your help, Anita. Thank you.

Hi Luis, sorry that didn't work. Unfortunately Genesis themes are not compatible with all plugins and you've posted several inquiries here in the forum asking how to make Genesis work with the plugin. Maybe a more proficient code developer will see your posts and will be able to assist you.
