Is there a theme that will allow me to create a look similar to this site: http://michaelhyatt.com/ ?

I'm specifically wanting there to be categories up top with boxes around them like you see on this them.

You can do that with most any Genesis child theme - just a matter of using hooks to move one of your nav menus down. I did something similar on this site awhile back using the Genesis Sample theme.

It was built on Genesis Sample. The secondary navigation was repositioned using this function:

//* Move secondary navigation before loop
remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_subnav' );
add_action( 'genesis_before_loop', 'genesis_do_subnav' );

That puts it right above the content. Then I used CSS to style it - you can use a tool like Firebug or Inspector to find the CSS and adapt it for your site, or to find the things you want to change on your own. See the tutorial link I posted above - that walks you through how to find the CSS you want to change.

For the top menu, you can reposition it using this (add to functions.php as well):

Any suggestions to tighten things up? It looks like some of the different categories areas / pagenation , and some of that stuff could be tightened up. Any thoughts?

The tutorial is showing you how to inspect the elements on the site so you can add CSS rules to your stylesheet. It's beyond the scope of forum support to provide you with a customized theme; you'd need to hire a designer or developer.

I understand that, but it's a matter of adding CSS to the menu items. Providing the exact CSS goes beyond the scope of what we typically do in the forum. You are welcome to open a new topic to ask that question in case another forum member is willing to help out, though.
