    Hi there,

    I heard that the hook genesis_before is depreciated for quite a while now.
    This site lists the details:

    Genesis 3.0.0 Removed Deprecated Functions

    BUT

    In the documentation it is still listed:
    https://my.studiopress.com/documentation/customization/guides-and-references/hook-reference/

    Can anybody enlighten me?
    Is the Genesis Framework still actively developed?
    I am quite confused about this.

    The two pieces of documentation are referring to two different things. The genesis_before action hook is not the same things as the deprecated and removed genesis_before() function.

    Early versions of Genesis used functions to provide the same functionality the actions and filters provide today. So in essence, both articles are correct.

    To use the genesis_before action hook, you would add something like this to you functions.php or a PHP snippet plugin:

    add_action('genesis_before', 'my_custom_function')'
    function my_custom_function() {
     /* do something cool here */
    }
