I have looked at the latest themes but still prefer the older Centric Pro theme. However, it hasn't been updated since 2014 and is still version 1.0x.

Will this theme still have the same stability and security of modern themes?

Do older child themes inherit improvements such as accessibility and schema through the parent theme?

And finally, are all 'Pro' themes checked to ensure they meet up-to-date standards?

    Thanks.

Centric Pro is a modern, HTML5 based, theme. The functionality of a child theme comes from the parent theme, the Genesis Framework. As long as your Genesis is updated, you have nothing to worry about.

    Thanks for the reassurance Victor.

I was slightly worried as the theme was last updated in 2014 (according to the download area).

Child themes, once released, are rarely if ever updated and they are never auto-updated. You won't even know if a theme has been updated unless you look at the download page. The only exception to this was when Studio Press rolled out their Sites hosting solution. They updated quite a few themes to include WooCommerce support.

Any security fixes and WordPress compatibility changes go in Genesis - not child themes.
