Is It Harmful If I Do This To My Theme?

Hi,

I'm using the old eleven40 theme and wanted to remove the post meta so i added the specific snippet for that however that snippet also removed the stripe/line.

So i've done something else.

I've removed this part from the following code: [post_tags before="Tags: "]

//* Customize the post meta function
add_filter( 'genesis_post_meta', 'sp_post_meta_filter' );
function sp_post_meta_filter($post_meta) {
if ( !is_page() ) {
$post_meta ='[post_tags before="Tags: "]';
return $post_meta;
}}

Which resulted in this code:

//* Customize the post meta function
add_filter( 'genesis_post_meta', 'sp_post_meta_filter' );
function sp_post_meta_filter($post_meta) {
if ( !is_page() ) {
$post_meta ='';
return $post_meta;
}}

Is that harmful to leave the space between '' empty?
