Hi All, the topic description says to introduce myself, so here goes...
I'm probably a contender for oldest member of the forum - the first code I ever wrote was FORTRAN IV in 1967. I was in the Macintosh launch team, working with Steve in 1984. Most of my career in IT marketing. Since 2004 I've been involved in the America's Cup and now find that have become an expert. I've helped develop two museum exhibits about the America's Cup, I wrote a multimedia book about the amazing comeback of the US team in San Francisco in 2013, and now I'm developing online "courses." One for entertainment: serialized version of my book with webcasts. Another course for business: how to generated ROI from marketing around a sports (or cultural) event - the sports marketing buzzword is "activation."

Welcome to the forum. As a seasoned professional myself, I don't favor the word "old" when describing our experience. We aren't old, we are:

    experienced
    accomplished
    competent
    hardened
    knowledgeable
    qualified
    skillful
    trained
    wise
    instructed

    matured
    practiced
    prepared
    tested
    toughened
    tried
    vet
    weathered
    adept
    battle-scarred

    been around
    been there
    expert
    familiar
    old hand
    pro
    professional
    veteran
    worldly
    worldly wise

    ...just not *old*.

    Regards,

Thanks for the nice note and the great list of nouns and adjectives!
I certainly don't consider myself old, but I (very) occasionally use that word as a descriptor, tongue in cheek.

    Cheers,
    Jack the Maven

P.S. a small contribution to your list 🙂

    Welcome Jack.

I'm a big America's Cup fan and was mesmerized by the US team's comeback in 2013. It's a pleasure to meet someone involved in the event.

    I'm not a millennial either. =8-)
