Increasing Gravitar Size

I would like my gravitar size to be from 40 to 90 or so (and be able to change it to 70 if that looks too large.)

I have tried adding this code to my Lifestyle theme functions.php

// Change default gravatar size in comments
add_filter('genesis_comment_list_args', 'childtheme_comment_list_args');
function childtheme_comment_list_args($args) {
$args['avatar_size'] = '90'; // Value is side length of square avatar, in pixels.
return $args;
}

But it has not changed.
