I moving a site from a TwentyTen-based theme (old school!) to Genesis. The site has "Links" with a category of "blogroll". He was using the "Links" widget to display them in the sidebar.

I see Genesis Sample doesn't have "Links" available. I want to put these in a Page. Do I need to declare "Links" support to have them show up in my new theme, or will they show up because they existed?

The reason I ask is that we converted my wife's site to Genesis Sample from old WP default themes and it looks like the "Links" carried over without any need for adding support. And there is still a Links widget available in the widget area.

Also, what would I need to do to add these "links" to a page? I haven't found anything in searches, so I would appreciate any advice someone could give.

The WordPress Links manager was hidden in WordPress 3.5 and higher. See this: https://codex.wordpress.org/Links_Manager

Thank you, Victor. That was helpful. The article basically said that if you used them before, they'll show up in upgrades. That would explain why my wife's site carried them over into Genesis. So I know they'll show up when I activate the Genesis theme on my client's site.

And I answered my own question about how to put the blog roll in a page. I found a function code that shows how to add a shortcode to a page that will display the blogroll.
