    Hello everyone,

    Happy new year!

    I have a small problem with images on Genesis child themes I am creating.

    You can see the problem here- scroll down to see 'RELATED POSTS':
    http://www.missblogger.co/valentina/2016/09/06/this-is-another-full-width-post/

    I have added new image size to my function.php file, add_image_size( 'valentina-related', 800, 800, TRUE );

    and I thought the images that appear under Related Posts would be squared because of the 800x800 size (square). I expected the image to be quared and resized from 800x800 to fit in if that makes sense so basically the 3rd image, that appears in the 'incorrect way' to me, I would expect to be scaled then cropped.

    The same problem applied to some posts when I was creating Featured Posts on home page: http://www.missblogger.co/valentina as some images DO NOT want to appear in the size I am asking them to appear 😛 So for instance, when I select 1000x1500 for homepage featured image, I expect the image to appear int he ratio 1x1.5 however sometimes some of them, appear in whatever shape they want.

    I tried to apply min-height to image but then they stretch and don't look good.

    Any help appreciated! Thank you

    Related posts aren't built into Genesis. Please contact the plugin Developer for suggestions on changing image sizes.

    Also, it's best practice to use the same image sizes when uploading that displays clearly for each of the image sizes you use in your theme.

    Ok, I will contact Plugin Developer about Related Posts however the same problem applies to Genesis Grid feature or Featured Posts Widget made for Genesis. I would really appreciate if someone can help with CSS or function code to fix that.

    In terms of Grid feature, the problem can be seen here, under 'Category 3' http://www.missblogger.co/valentina/category-index/

    thank you in advance

    There's no code needed as your theme already includes the code.

    I suggest you manually crop each featured image to the same size before upload.

    Or

    You can add custom image sizes and regenerate thumbnails
