We want to attain a solution where our posts (both old and new) can be in the format of -

    'first' image of the post
    title
    post info
content (deleting 'first' image from here via code)

I've been to various links where some suggest a way to put featured image above title on home and archive page, some suggest using genesis_get_image to get first image to show on home page.

The catch is, we need to achieve this on all sorts (home, single, archive, category pages etc.). Any idea how we can do this?

From the top, I see the difficulties as -
    1) Positioning desired things on desired places (because of HTML5 now)
    2) catching first image posted in the content and also deleting it while the content is shown at its desired place (to remove sam eimage showing twice).
    3) maintaining schema (because of HTML5)

We also can't use featured image technique because we have like 1000s of old posts and then we have to set featured image in all. So it needs to be done via the first image which is posted while publishing the post.

PS. I've been through following posts -

Check out Brad Dalton's website - http://wpsites.net. I get a lot of useful code from his website.
