ParticipantHello:
For some reason I'm not able to create a hyperlink in the Executive footer. I'm using the Simple Edit plugin for a custom footer and hyperlinks are not appearing. One of the links includes an image and the image disappears. When I place the same code in a regular page the links are working, but not in the footer section. Are certain tags not allowed? Thanks.

MemberYou can add it to Genesis Simple Edits under "Modify Entire Footer Text (including markup)?"
Make sure to select the checkbox if using this section to enable it.

ParticipantDoug that is exactly what has been done, but still not working. It seems as if the tag isn't allowed.

MemberI would double-check the mark-up. It should work. I use it for links also. Your image link should look something like the following:
<a href="#"><img src="imagename.jpg" /></a>

ParticipantHere's the code below. When placed in the Simple Edits for the footer both the image and text used in the links are not visible. When I place the same code inside a page it works correctly.<div class="facebook"> <p> <span class="social-heading"> CONNECT WITH GOLDEN WILLOW RETRIEVERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA </span> <a href="#"><img src="/golden/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/facebook.png" alt="Facebook" /></a> <a href="#">Facebook</a> </span> </p> </div> <div class="copy"> <p> © 2016 Golden Willow Retrievers </p> </div>February 23, 2016 at 11:16 am #179727Doug Edgington
MemberIt appears you are missing an opening span tag before the two links, so you have a stray closing span tag. But I doubt this is your issue.
The image may not be showing up, because of the image path. Try using the absolute path to the image to see if the image path is the issue. Here is an example
<img src="http://www.example.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/facebook.png" />In regards to the links, if you are referring to them not being highlighted as links (coloring, underline, etc...), this is likely the styling. Try hovering over the link to see if it functions like a link.

ParticipantDoug I removed the extra <span> tag, but still no success. It's as if the tag isn't allowed in that area for some reason.

MemberWhen I fixed the span tag, and I used the absolute path for the image, it worked for me using your code. Do you have the site online? If so, can you include a link?
