    <?php
    /**
    *
    */

    genesis_structural_wrap( 'site-inner', 'close' );
    echo '</div>'; //* end .site-inner or #inner

    do_action( 'genesis_before_footer' );
    do_action( 'genesis_footer' );
    do_action( 'genesis_after_footer' );

    echo '</div>'; //* end .site-container or #wrap

    do_action( 'genesis_after' );
    wp_footer(); //* we need this for plugins
    ?>
    </body>
    </html>

    I've created my child footer.php However I'm not sure what those actions do and can't locate them in the framework. So I'm not sure what is needed and what can be deleted.

    I just want to remove the all the self-promoting BS in the footer.

    Instructions on modifying the footer are available here: http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/footer

    It suggests either using the Simple Edits (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-simple-edits/) plugin, or by adding one of the various PHP snippets to your theme's functions.php file.

    Thanks that snippets page should be in the pdf manual rather than just going through the overly obvious Genesis "Settings"
