    Hi there,

    All blog posts when crawled shows post date is serps. Please see a sample page below.

    Image

    I don't want the highlighted section on the serps. I mean I don't want the date to be displayed on the serps. One way of doing this is removing the date section on the blog post - But that would not make sense as I want the user to see the date.

    So, I want the user to see the date on the site, however I dont want google to use it on its serps. How can we achieve this? Can anyone help do this?

    Hi,

    I believe that google pulls this information off your post/page themselves.

    Check out this article, its a little old but hopefully will start you in the right direction:

    Stewart, thanks for the share. Yes, I went through the article. I liked the javascript idea and tried implementing it.

    However my index.php Genesis theme has only following code and didn't have anything to do with time and date. Just have a look at it below:

    <?php
    /*
     WARNING: This file is part of the core Genesis framework. DO NOT edit
     this file under any circumstances. Please do all modifications
     in the form of a child theme.
     */

    /**
     * Index template, initialises Genesis.
     *
     * This file is a core Genesis file and should not be edited.
     *

     * @link     http://www.studiopress.com/themes/genesis
     */

    genesis();

    Now, how do I or where do I implement the changes as in http://www.dollarshower.com/how-to-remove-date-stamp-from-google-serp-description/

    Any help would be of great use. Cheers.

    You can remove the post info using code or remove the date using the Genesis Simple Edits plugin

    Brad - Have no idea how to do this as my functions.php file is encrypted as wrote on my previous reply.

    You should never modify any of the Genesis files.

    All changes should be made to your child themes files. What child theme are you using?
