    Hello. I would like to REMOVE the post navigation links "older posts", "newer posts". I tried putting this code in functions.php of child theme but didn't work

    remove_action( 'genesis_older_link_text' , 'custom_older_link_text' );

    You could use display: none; in the CSS.

    try putting this in your functions.php file:
    remove_action('genesis_after_endwhile', 'genesis_posts_nav');
    remove_action('genesis_after_endwhile','child_posts_nav');
