    Hello,

A general question for a problem occurring frequently and not for a specific website.

Rather than the page parent/children hierarchy I'd prefer my breadcrumbs ruled by the main nav menu hierarchy.
Which menu have some custom links (with #link) for example :

    home
    menu1(#)
    >sub-menu1
    >sub-menu2
    contact

With basic genesis breadcrumb one have :

    You are here : home > sub-menu1

    I'd like

    You are here : home > menu1 > sub-menu1

Menu1 should not be a link and should not point anywhere in menu or in breadcrumb

If anyone have any piece of code for that, I'd be very glad.

    Cheers

    Marc

Breadcrumbs in WordPress are driven by permalink structure. What you are asking for is really a path-based breadcrumb structure. You could try a plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/breadcrumb-navxt/ to see if it works for you.

    Hello Victor,

    Thanks for the tip.
It seems that the plugin alone does not do the job I want.

But they sell an add-on that may work :

    Breadcrumb NavXT Menu Magic

I will ask them if it does exactly what I want and let know here.

I found an other way creating pages parents/children and using that plugin on parents to set a # link
    https://srd.wordpress.org/plugins/page-links-to/

But I'd prefer to have totally blank url with a custom link so there will be no hover effect.

Happy new year to everybody !

    Hello there,

Finally that addon plugin does the job perfectly since few days :

    Breadcrumb NavXT Menu Magic

The main free plugin fits perfectly with Genesis, no need to put any code within templates,
just activate breadcrumbs in Genesis where you want to display it.

    Have fun 🙂
