    I would like to change the z-index of the header image / logo so it overlaps the slider, and have the bottom of the slider line up with the bg graphic of the lupins if possible. Not having any luck playing with the CSS. Can anyone help? Thanks!

    For a static site the fix is easy. This site however is responsive and you would have to make a lot of css changes to get this idea to work at different browser sizes.
