    Is there a way to overlay an image on top of the WP-cycle element on the Manhattan theme (or any other theme)? For example, I want a full-width square box like the theme comes with, but I want an image (like a logo) on top of it in the left corner.

    I have figured out how to layer it over the "home-top" margin area, but not over the rotating images themselves.

    Site is http://www.bedrocknursery.net/

    Thanks!

    You can use positioning and z-index

    I tried that, but apparently I'm too much of a novice to pull it off. Any additional instructions would be helpful! Thank you so much for answering.

    That's all it takes. adding position and z-index properties. What exactly did you try?

    I did z-index:1; z-index:2; z-index:3; etc. But I didn't do something separate for positioning. I thought z-index WAS positioning?

    No, for z-index to take effect you must also apply a position.

    So where/how would you add that?

    #home-top {
    width: 1060px;
    margin: 0 auto 0;
    padding: 2px;
    z-index=1; }

    There are examples in the links I initially provided

    position: absolute;
    z-index: 999;

    Sorry - I didn't see the links originally. Worked perfectly! Thank you so much -  I am VERY grateful!
