I am using the AgentPress Pro theme. I want the pages with listings to end with .html.

Changing the Permalink did not work, since it only affects Posts. I guess Listings are not posts. I then tried http://carlofontanos.com/add-html-extension-to-permalinks/ but it did not generate the intended .html extension to my listing pages.

Please suggest how to get .html in individual listings. I am replacing existing static .html pages, and do not want to lose the links created over the years.

    Thanks,

You're much better off creating 301 permanent redirects than trying to re-engineer the way WordPress works. 301 redirects are the normal way for preserving links.

Thanks Victor. I am keeping that option as a last resort. I have over 400 static pages. Would love to get a WordPress hack or plugin to fix it rather than hardcode hundreds of 301s... Thanks anyway.

    Cheers,
    Vin

    Hi,

The listings are a custom post type.
When you search Google for "add .html to cpt permalink"
you will find results like these:
    http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/59024/add-html-dot-html-extension-to-custom-post-types
    http://www.tricksbag.com/html_permalinks-custom_post_types/

I agree with Victor that 301s would be better.
