I received an error message on my Google Search Console saying that I have slow URLs. After checking PageSpeed (that reflected a score of 15 on mobile and 66 on desktop), I keep getting the following:

    Opportunity

    Eliminate render-blocking resources - 1.63 s
Reduce server response times (TTFB) - 0.69 s
    Serve images in next-gen formats - 0.54 s
    Enable text compression - 0.14 s

How can I eliminate render blocking resources?

    I'm currently using Essence Pro.

When you run your site through Pagespeed Insights, there are drop down arrows next to each item which will tell you what code needs to be optimized. Click those drop downs to see what they are. You'll need to add in an optimization plugin but check with your host to see if they have their own plugin. I know SiteGround has their own. If your host does not, then check the plugin repository for a plugin that works best for you. I know a lot of people use Autoptimize.

Thanks, Anita. My host insists they don't know anything about it and I need to speak to the theme developer. ?” So does this mean I can use WP Rocket? I see WP Engine recommends it. Thanks very much.

I just checked your site through GTMetrix and you've got many more issues than just render blocking scripts. https://gtmetrix.com/reports/liveablissfullife.com/MHGaOsIS

If you look at the 5 scripts that are categorized as render blocking, only 2 of them originate from your domain. The others are loaded from remote sites by plugins. You may not be able to do anything about those.

If you move the 2 scripts from your domain so they load in the footer instead of the header, there is a chance you could break your site. Some JavaScript has to load first.

I use WP Rocket on all of my sites and those of my clients. It can help to a degree, but finding the scripts that must load in the header and which can load in the footer is a trial and error process.
