I have Day One developer experience on the WWW. I have nada w/ PHP, WordPress and the Genesis Framework (GF) which I bought into about a year ago and now must get serious. I need to build an e-commerce marketplace for members who sell their own design and variations of a unique type of product; think Etsy as a starting point for example.
I chose WordPress and GF because blogging for members will need their own blog in the marketplace and nobody does blogging better than WordPress and there is no better development framework for WordPress than Genesis right? Can I get a hell yea?
I am hoping to learn about unique ways to use GF for this objective and other tuts about how marketplaces are actually developed; authentication strategies, techniques and so on that will of course mean deep insight into the database architecture.
I know this is a complex topic and hope I can attract the attention of those with extensive experience as developers but hey, any and all opinions, insights and references to tuts are welcome. Thank you for your time...
