I'm looking to create a child theme, should I use the @import url to bring in the css from genesis? The reason I ask is elsewhere they say this is better than copying the css over to the child theme and customizing.

If I use the genesis sample theme, should I be replacing all the info like file name and theme name etc?

    Thanks for your help.

You can replace the file name and the theme name in the style.css file.

You can keep the file names the same because they should all fall under the new /child-theme/folder causing no discrepinces.
