    I'd like to make my comment area stand out a little more than it does now, I'm thinking that changing the white box around the comments from white to black may help do just that. Can someone give me an idea of how to do this?

    The HTML for that is

    <ol class="comment-list">
</ol>

    So you need to target that in your CSS file. Ex:

    ol.comment-list { border: 1px solid #000 }
