    Am currently using a recipe blogger theme and would like to increase the content area and reduce the width of the side bar. Would like to know how to do it.

    first you can select the template that adjust your content properly or you can manually edit it from editor to adjust your content area and side bar. If you don't get it you can browse around here may be it helps you a lot.
