I need to add some home page copy to a client site I'm building, at the top of the Front Page 2 widget area.

I've tried using the first text widget in the Front Page 2 widget area, but the first text widget is not designed to take text in the content area. When I tried, unordered lists had no bullets and used a larger font than the body text, and no padding below the list, and ordered lists did have numbers but once again used a larger font than the body text and no padding below the list, the body text is too small, and overall it just looks like crap.

Can you please advise me on how to get normal, flush-left text into this area?

Sorry I can't provide a URL; it's not on a live link yet.

There's no such thing as a widget area that can't accept text. The text display for any widget area is controlled by the style sheet. Use your browser's inspection tool to find the CSS that controls a specific element and change it to suit your needs. https://victorfont.com/how-to-use-your-browsers-inspect-tool/
