    Hello all,

I want to add an additional 3-widget footer widget area to Atmosphere child theme. Reason being is that I want to retain the existing full width footer "signup" widget and have 3 column widget area below for for nav menus. The existing footer nav menu has too many elements so I need to stack them.

I modified functions.php to increase number footer widgets from 1 to 3 in Atmosphere. Added css too as per this tutorial; https://my.studiopress.com/documentation/tutorials/widget-areas/add-footer-widgets-to-your-genesis-child-theme/

The result from the above modification to functions is not what I'm looking for.

Can anyone suggest another way to achieve what I'm trying to do?

    Any help is appreciated, Larry

I only see a widget in footer widget 1. How is it not working for you? The screenshot doesn't appear here.

Footer widget 1 (signup form) is fine - I don't want to touch that. Problem is that when I add more widgets it disrupts my layout. I want to leave the signup form widget full width as it currently is and display additional widgets below this in a different section. Any suggestions? Replicate the footer in functions?

You could add do a few things. But the easiest probably would be to add one more full width widget area under it and add Genesis Widget Column Classes and use the 1/3 setting on those. The responsive code is already there so you probably wouldn't need to tinker around with CSS for mobile.

You can use my tutorial here and change the hook to below_footer possibly. You can also see the hook areas using this - https://genesistutorials.com/visual-hook-guide/.

I love the plugin though. I use it all the time.

Ok many thanks for your help. I’ll go with the full width widget area as I can handle modifying the functions file. I have no clue how to work with hooks.

If I’m adding the additional full width widget area like you mentioned, can you help me with the code snippet for that?

Again, I appreciate your help on this
