MemberHello,
I am currently working on a project and as at present, I'm completely stuck...any help from more experienced hands would be greatly appreciated.
How do I reduce the default 6 footer widgets available on the NewsPro theme to a lesser number, say 4?
Once again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

MemberPop into functions.php.
Look for the following:
//* Add support for 6-column footer widgets add_theme_support( 'genesis-footer-widgets', 6 );Change the 6 to your happy number 🙂

MemberThanks a million for the response, Erik - much appreciated.
I now have only 4 footer widgets (my magic number 🙂 ). However, the widgets are clustered to the left and not proportionally spaced. Any code/tip to tackle that?
Once again, my sincere appreciation in anticipation to your response...

MemberYep, that'll be a CSS thing ... since your theme was configured to use 6 footer widgets.
What's your link?

MemberI played around with your footer widgets (so to speak!!), but the original News Pro footer widgets have a certain layout, i.e. the last widget is the newsletter ... which gives the illusion that all the widgets are neatly arranged with the same spacing between them ... when actually, they are not (all to do with right margins).
Here are a couple of changes to start with ... to see what you think ... which gets things aligned consistently (a bit like Executive Pro) ... so look for the following code in your style.css file:
.footer-widgets-1, .footer-widgets-2, .footer-widgets-3, .footer-widgets-4, .footer-widgets-5, .footer-widgets-6 { width: 160px; } .footer-widgets-1, .footer-widgets-2, .footer-widgets-3, .footer-widgets-4 { margin-right: 20px; }- change
width: 160px;towidth: 25%;
- changemargin-right: 20px;topadding: 20px;The reason why News Pro and Executive Pro work is because of the layout of the last column ... where they have some kind of form.
Anyway, this is just for starters to see what you think ... before we sort out all the responsive stuff.

MemberMy thanks for your time, Erik. However, things are not yet aligned proportionally. Could you take a look?

MemberI can see you changed your CSS file ... but right now, your footer widgets have disappeared ...
