    Is there any way to easily overwrite this code from framework.php?

    do_action( 'genesis_before_content' );
    genesis_markup( array(
         'html5'   => '<main %s>',
         'xhtml'   => '<div id="content" class="hfeed">',
         'context' => 'content',
    ) );

    Basically I want to inject id="content" in the <main> element because it's just easier to target it using Javascript document.getElementById('content');

    Thanks!

    You never do that because it will be lost when you update Genesis.

    Genesis includes filters which enable you to modify the output of a Genesis core function via your child themes functions file.

    You can also hook in new content using any genesis hook. http://my.studiopress.com/docs/hook-reference/
