Try a scroll or anchor point

I put this in the sidebar widget:

    Sign Up Here

and this in the page ('sign up now):

    http://sign up now

and when I click on 'sign up now' I get a blank page. I notice that when I go back to the widget, the anchor1 code is gone.
    How can I correct this?

The post doesn't show the code but it should be correct.

Am still looking for help with this question. I tried what braddalton suggested but the code was automatically stripped from the widget/sidebar.
    What else might work?

    Thanks.

Use the iD selector for the sidebar widget.

I have tried every variation of using the iD selector and still am not having success.
I am making the href link, then the a name, but still getting a blank page.

I would appreciate more specifics. the iD selector for the widgit is email-series-sidebar.
    Thanks.
