    I'd like my site, http://valuemarketing.me, which I'm configuring on the eleven40 theme, to look like Pastors.com. I really like the featured blog posts on the home page: the two larger excerpts with large images on the top, and the boxes of excerpts below it.

    How can I get that same effect?

    Thanks!

    Fernando

    Go to your home.php file and look for this:

    		'features' 			=> 2,
    			'feature_image_size' 		=> 'featured,'
    			'feature_image_class'		=> 'alignleft post-image',
    			'feature_content_limit' 	=> 300,
    			'grid_image_size'		=> 'grid-thumbnail',
    			'grid_image_class'		=> 'alignnright',
    			'grid_content_limit' 		=> 250,
    			'more' 				=> __( '[Continue reading]', 'genesis' ),

    Replace YOURS with MINE. You will see I changed the number of features from 1 to 2. I changed the image size from 0 to 'featured', and I changed the content limit to 300. You can change the 300 to whatever you like.

    I changed the alignment for the bottom posts from "alignnone" to "alignright"

    Now open up your Functions.php file and look for this:

    /** Add new image sizes */
    add_image_size( 'grid-thumbnail', 110, 110, TRUE );
    add_image_size( 'featured', 340, 220, TRUE );

    Replace YOUR code with MINE. It's setting the featured image at the top and the smaller thumbnail for the bottom posts.

    Start with that and see if it get's you where you want to be.

    Oh, one last question: do you know how I would add a button class to the [continue reading] <a href ?

    That's using the MORE-LINK. Add that to your style sheet. Add your color or background image accordingly.

    .more-link {
    background: #HEXCOLOR;
    }
