How do I add a widget to one page only?

I'd like to add the Simple Social Icons widget to my contact page.

Does anyone know how to do that?

You can hook in a new widget area using a conditional tag for your contact page like:

if ( is_page('contact') )

I'm afraid I can't see where in the Simple Hooks plugin that'd go.

No need for a plugin.

Just add the code to your functions file.

You can then modify the conditional tag and hook position.

The conditional tag needs to be placed after the function name like this:

I'm going to place the icons manually on the Contact page. Not the cleanest way to do it, but the one I know 🙂

You copy the PHP from the view raw link in the Gist and paste the code into your child themes functions file. That's it.

I believe what mariafernandez is asking is how to simply display an existing WP widget (like the Text Widget) in an existing theme widget area (like the Primary Sidebar) for a specific page or post or category, from the WordPress admin dashboard with no coding. This is a very common feature in, for instance, Drupal, where you can place a 'Block', the equivalent to a WP Widget, on one or more pages.
