When I tried posting the link to my new website on Facebook, it pulled a choice of three thumbnails and marketing text for my hosting company's parallel plesk pannel. How and where can I specify which images (and site description) to attach to my site's URL? I tried putting script in the 'theme settings head' and in the home page's meta data, but it's not working.

Use SEO by Yoast plugin to define website title, description and image for homepage url. Plus it has other features to help in SEO. https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/
