    Hi,

    How do I make home-top area white with the text staying black? On many browsers, it turns a lite gray. I would like it to stay white on the phone, too.

    Also, at times when someone clicks a category, the area that explains the purpose of the posts often turns gray. How do fix this issue? On my laptop the area is white.

    If you search your stylesheet for "home-top" you should find this CSS rule:

    .home-top {
    background-color: #f3f3f3;
    border-bottom: 1px solid #e3e3e3;
    clear: both;
    padding: 20px 20px 0;
    padding: 2rem 2rem 0;
    }

    Simply change the background color to #fff and that area should display white instead of gray. Same thing with the archive descriptions:

    .archive-description, .author-box {
    background-color: #f3f3f3;
    border-bottom: 1px solid #e3e3e3;
    margin: 0;
    overflow: hidden;
    padding: 20px;
    padding: 2rem;
    }

    Here is a tutorial that walks you through finding and changing CSS elements on your site: http://www.nutsandboltsmedia.com/how-to-customize-your-genesis-child-theme-with-chromes-inspector/
