    Good morning everyone. I have a question I can not seem to find the answer to and was hoping to get some pointers.

    I have set up a site utilizing the Genesis Sample theme. Thanks to some of Brad Dalton's amazing guides on I have got a good handful of modifications working. Logo in the header, responsive mobile menu, etc. I have my home page set as the static front page and have added the under my home page header. It functions correctly and looks great. (honestly can't recommend this slider enough the load difference is killer)

    My problem though is that this slider also shows up on my blog page. How can I exclude it from displaying on this page? It doesn't show up on any others.

    Any thoughts or direction would be great. Thanks so much.

    Hi Grant - can you show us the code you are using to add the slider? Did you create a front-page.php file or are you dong it all from functions.php?

    There was a very simple fix for this, feel pretty silly.

    I used the code from Sridhar Katakam's full width soliloquy tutorial and failed to see that it was set for both home and frontpage. Removing "is_home() ||" from the below snippet solved my issue of the slider widget displaying on both the frontpage and blog page which I guess is considered "home". On to bigger and better things!

    //* Register Home Slider widget area
    genesis_register_sidebar( array(
    'id' => 'home-slider',
    'name' => 'Home Slider',
    'description' => 'This is the home slider section'
    ) );

    add_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'sk_home_featured' );
    function sk_home_featured() {
    if ( is_home() || is_front_page() ) {
    genesis_widget_area( 'home-slider', array(
    'before' => '<div class="home-slider widget-area">',
    'after' => '</div>',
    ) );
    }
    }
