    Hello,

    My new site is: http://www.50shadesofmum.co.uk/

    So far I have managed to increase the size of the header by changing the #header code to have: min-height: 100px;

    However, when I try to upload a bigger logo it reverts back to the "using 500px X 50px" dimensions found via the Appearance >> Header section. How can I get a bigger logo there to fill the increased gap I've created?

    Also, I'd like the logo to be aligned left so that I can potentially use a widget in the header right area that may carry a tagline?

    Thanks,

    Alana

    To help me help you here, I need to ask you a question: have you already added some code to your functions.php to do with the header? Because straight out of the box, as far as I can see, there is no Appearance > Header option with the Mocha theme. Did you enable the custom header functionality and set the height and width to 500 x 50?

    No, I haven't touched the functions.php file, I've changed the code in the CSS file:

    #header {
    background: #99e3d6 url(images/dark-bg.png);
    margin: 0 auto;
    min-height: 100px;
    overflow: hidden;
    text-shadow: 1px 1px #111;
    width: 100%;

    I don't think I've "enabled custom header functionality" etc. - I get the impression I should modify it here? I couldn't see any 'numbers' to change in there but I did in the CSS so I did it there....

    Thanks 🙂

    I'm really sorry Alana, but I just can't replicate the setup you have - I don't have the option to upload a logo via Appearance > Header at all. Hopefully someone else will be able to help!

    I think I may have misunderstood your other post Charlie - I've changed the settings in the Genesis Simple Headers section to Advanced, and there changed the size to 800 x 100 which has now allowed me to upload a header image that is that size and is shown as that size.

    It appears to have overwritten the background image that was there which accounted for the solid blue bar going across the screen but now the header image shows up on the transparent background I think it almost looks better!?

    I'll probably resize it further to include a possible tagline or site description line within that header image at some point  - or add something separate to the header right widget and then need to move that around so that it doesn't show up just right of centre, but rather, right over to the right but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it!

    Thanks,

    🙂
