I was wondering if it is possible in genesis to hide footer widgets if they don't have any content in them?

Well, they shouldn't show up if there's nothing in there? I something showing up for you? Please give us a link to your site.

Sorry I didn't explain that well.

No, the widget doesn't show up but the space for it is still there. See: http://graybillcreative.com/ultimatepaleo/

My client wants a second level on his footer widgets. But there are times he wants it to be two columns and times he wants it to be three columns. So, I'm wanting it to not have all the space under the two column footer widget area when I don't have content in the second three column footer widget area. Does that make sense? I know it's confusing.
