I'm currently building a theme that will be used for an online magazine.

I'm trying to display just the category. I know there is a bug with Nick's Genesis Featured Widget Amplified where it isn't possible to use the [post_categories before=""] shortcode to prevent anything appearing before the categories.

Ignoring that, I want to display just one category (i.e. management) and not the post type (i.e. news/feature/opinion).

However, I want the user to be able to click on the news tab for example and see all the posts under that category or taxonomy.

I assume that the best way of doing this would be to create a custom taxonomy, and use that to control them appearing in the post.

I wanted to double check this is the right way to do it before spending hours trying to figure it out. If not, any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

    I've solved it.

I ended up adding a new Taxonomy and using that to control its appearance through the GFWA widget.
