MemberHi there, I need some help quite urgently.
I was following the studiopress instructions on a client's website for adding a custom favicon. I pasted the code fully and forgot at first to remove the first part: //* Do NOT include the opening php tag
An error message came up, so I went back and deleted and put the code as it should be. Now, whatever I do, this error comes up:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home1/d2design/public_html/cablestop.com.au/wp-content/themes/parallax-pro/functions.php on line 153I can't access the backend of wordpress anymore. I was just about to launch the website for my customer and now its not opening at all. 🙁
Would someone be kind enough to explain how I change it via ftp? (this is what other forums seem to be saying). I'm not used to doing this, but I have done it once and have Cyberduck installed. I need to know exactly what to do with what files once i'm accessing the database via ftp.
Thanks,
http://www.cablestop.com.au

Memberif you have FTP access details then connect the server by FTP (You can use FileZilla). Then download the functions.php file and remove the following line
//* Do NOT include the opening php tag

MemberHi Genwrock
thanks! so I download functions.php, remove that line, then reupload the same file with the same name to the same folder, correct?
Is there anything I need to be extra careful of in this process? I don't want to cause more damage...
Cheers,

Yes. Right.
If you're not getting 100% confidence then download the file and upload the full code at pastebin.com. Next share the link and I'll check the code. later I'll create a new pastebin link and share you. You'll copy the code and paste in the file, re-upload the file via FTP. Then you're problem will be solved.
