    I am using the Epik theme and edited it so that the header would be fixed at the top at all times. I have that portion exactly as I want it BUT the first widget area is partially under the header rather than below it. I cannot figure out where or why in the CSS this is happening.

    Hi,

    You can give the widget areas more of a top margin in style.css, line 1405.

    Here's my suggested revision:

    .welcome-feature-1, .welcome-feature-2 {
        float: left;
        margin: 20px 2% 0px 0px;
        width: 45%;
    }
