    As you can see on my site () the header image placement doesn't look right. There needs to be space between the image and the top of the site and I need to get rid of that slim black border at the very top. I can't seem to locate the css for the black border and every time I try to enter in css padding to create space between the image and the site's top border it creates it underneath the image rather than on top.

    Thanks for your help.

    The slim black border at the top of the page is part of the background image so you would need to edit the image in order to remove that.

    To move your logo down below that black section add some padding to #wrap

    example

    #wrap {
    background: url(images/wrap.jpg) top repeat-x;
    margin: 0 auto;
    padding: 40px 0 0;
    }
