I have my header set at 1200px with a padding of 0px. But that makes the content have no padding either. But if I increase the padding, the content moves to where I want it, but the header also adjusts, which I don't want.

how can I keep a full width header and place padding on the content?

    Hi,

without seeing a website or knowing what child theme you are using, all I can say is, be more specific with your css class. This could mean you have to create a new css selector.

    Thank you.

If you remove the padding from .site-container, you have to add padding to
    .site-inner (around line 461 of the style.css)

and to change the middle value ( 0 ) of padding in
    .footer-widgets (around line 1673)
