    Hi,

I've been reading that it's somewhat necessary to use gravity forms or possibly the enews widget to integrate aweber into a Genesis site.

Is this true? In the past, I've run into only minor issues sticking aweber code into a text widget. (Never into SP themes, however)

can someone shed some light on this for me? prepared to go gravity form route, but wondering if it's necessary.

    Thank you,

    Greg

You can definitely use the generic Aweber code with Genesis themes if you want. I usually use the eNews widget simply because the opt-in is designed to match the theme and looks much nicer than the Aweber ones, but Gravity Forms isn't necessary for Aweber at all. Hope that helps!

    Thank you (again) Andrea!

Is the enews widget limited? Especially if I need a handful of fields beyond email address?

I'll try them all but might end up investing in gravity forms. Seems to have some nice options.

You can add other fields, though you may need to add additional CSS rules to style them the same as the standard fields. I've got checkboxes on mine for different segments of my mailing list (I use MailChimp, but the setup is the same) and I've used other fields on various client sites. You can look at some of the options/setup for the eNews plugin here: http://www.brandonkraft.com/contrib/plugins/genesis-enews-extended/

Gravity Forms is fantastic - I have the dev license and use it for every single site I work on. I just don't think it's worth the investment if you're primarily interested in opt-in forms because there are so many other (cheaper) options.

Well I have some needs for opt-in forms and some for more detailed contact (sales lead) info. So I'm just trying to come up with a single (easy) solution to build the various forms AND in some cases get the contacts into aweber for follow-up.

I use contact form 7 which is pretty nice for the price. Straight-forward (without getting fancy) but obviously somewhat limited.

    Too many options for everything!!

    Thank you Andrea 🙂
