    I'm working in genesis sample theme. All pages are one-column, i.e. no sidebars, simply header, primary nav, main content, and footer.

    I'd like to have all of these centered and put a background color around it, including above header and below footer so that genesis theme is centered on the page surrounded by background color.

    I'd like to also change the main content background color from the default white. Using Chrome inspect elements and Jetpack.

    Any suggs?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    not sure what your question is.
    You are already using Chrome inspector.
    Just assign background-colors to the elements you want to have a background and copy it over to the style.css or Jetpack's custom.css
    Generally, for centering text / images you'd use text-align: center; and for centering elements margin: 0 auto;

    Without seeing a website, impossible to tell what else you'd need to change
