I'm using the Genesis Sample as a child theme, and working with the WordPress Gutenberg plug-in as my page editor. I cannot figure out why my main menu will not display on the home page. It shows on the other site pages without issue... but not on the home page.

Here's two pages where the header and menu are showing as they should

Only the home page fails to show header and menu... strange

Have you disabled Gutenberg to see if the menu shows back up?

    Thanks for the suggestion, Anita.
Opening the page in the classic editor, it still does not show the header or the menu.

LOL - I also got a bitter taste of what happens when you use the Gutenberg plug-in and then try to revert to the classic editor. I guess the plug-in is not the actual WP 5.0 version we are waiting for.

Well, everything is still in Beta and they are updating Gutenberg, WordPress and even the Genesis Sample on a regular basis now. I wouldn't try to use Gutenberg on a Live, real website at all just for those reasons.

Fortunately, I'm in staging mode... so I can bear the pain.
Still seems very strange - as I used Gutenberg to create all three pages, and only the home page is not displaying header / menu.
